We recognize in our faith and the scripture and the tradition that the importance of baptism for the protection of all peoples as well as giving the graces of the sacraments and sacramentals.

In the Great Commission as listed above from the Gospel of Matthew, we hear Jesus give us the command to baptize, and exactly how to do this. Baptism is the first and foremost sacrament in the Church, and is the sacrament from which all other sacraments flow from.
